How to get the best out of your Chiropractic care

Durant votre traitement

During the 24 hours following a session, all excessive efforts must be avoided.

Before and after each session, avoid any type of tension, whether it is physical or mental.
The more relaxed you are, the better the outcome of your treatment.

Appointments must be kept. It is very important to stick to the treatment plan established by your doctor. It has been designed to get you well as soon as possible.

Do not expect an immediate cure. In most cases, your muscles and ligaments will need to gradually adapt to the changes occurring in your body. It is a natural and permanent process requiring a certain time.

Be aware of your posture at all times, and keep your back straight.

A third of your life is spent in bed. Choose a good mattress and adopt a correct sleeping position.

When taking a bath, it is recommended to sit up in the bathtub rather than lie down. If you are tired and feel like relaxing, it’s better to do it on your bed.

During Your Daily Activities

  • Avoid, as much as possible, any type of movements causing you pain.
  • Avoid performing movements going beyond the normal range of motion of your spine (especially in the cervical area).
  • Avoid bending your spine too much, stretching or overextending your arms above your head. Pay particular attention when washing your hair.
  • When lifting a heavy object, keep your back straight and bend your knees so as to let your legs do the work. The object must be held as close as possible to your body.

Golden rule

When bending down or lifting a weight, always bend your knees.
